Often, one of the very first things we support new clients with is recommending and implementing a social media scheduling tool. There are so many options on the market, and just like our clients, there is no way you have time to review them all! We’ve done the research so you don’t have to! Read our report below.
September 26, 2022
It can be challenging to keep an active social presence without it taking over a sizable percentage of your time and attention. As you likely know all too well, entrepreneurs and business owners just don’t have the time to do it all, and staying on top of a brand’s social media presence is often something that falls to the wayside.
Even if you have a regular posting schedule in place and you’re consistent with producing content, it would be impossible for a business to post ‘live’ on each channel during the peak activity time for that channel – that’s the time when your post is most like to engage as many of your followers as possible.
As a result, software providers have come up with solutions to make social media scheduling and posting more manageable so you can truly set it and forget it.
This year we’ve been tasked with sourcing robust solutions that include newer features like the ability to schedule the first comment on a LinkedIn post, schedule multi-tweet posts or threads to Twitter, and schedule YouTube videos. We’re excited to share our findings with you here.
Here’s our roundup of 2022’s Most Robust Social Media Scheduling Tools.
SocialBlu
SocialBlu supports Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google My Business, and Twitter with an easy option to post thread tweets. The free version of the software allows for up to 40 monthly posts on any social media platform.
Our favourite feature of this tool is its ability to simply and quickly create tweet threads, including media such as images.
Metricool
Metricool is more complex, with many more features than SocialBlu in addition to supporting thread tweets.
The biggest advantage to Metricool is the ability to quickly and easily schedule YouTube content. On the free version, you can schedule up to 10 videos per month.
The free version of this tool supports almost all social media sites, if you want to schedule to LinkedIn you’ll have to move to the paid version.
Loomly
Loomly is a very easy-to-use tool, with a simple interface, supporting all social media platforms with the option to add collaborators to work alongside you in the tool. This tool makes collaboration a breeze with the ability to mark posts as a draft, pending approval, requiring edits, approved, scheduled, and lastly published.
What do we love most about this tool? When you draft your post, it provides a few optimization tips for the caption – making your awesome post even better! While this tool is missing the LinkedIn first comment feature and the ability to schedule multi-post or thread tweets, it makes up for that with its focus on perfecting scheduling for YouTube.
Vista Social
“Vista Social is the best tool I have seen so far. It has a very good design that is easy to use and it supports everything that one can need, highly recommended for all Social Media Managers!!” – Petar Angelkov, Social Media Manager at Vibe High VA
Vista Social is hands down, our very favourite tool. It supports scheduling for first comments on LinkedIn. This feature is key if you want the LinkedIn algorithm to favor your posts in the feed! Did you know that LinkedIn deprioritizes posts that send users off the platform to other sites? Get around this and use the “LinkedIn First Comment” feature to share external URLs such as links to your blog or your podcast, rather than having the URL in the body of the post.
You can schedule posts to Youtube and it can take care of publishing your thread tweets too. Our clients have opted for the premium version of this tool at our recommendation – at $3/mth per social media profile, the price and value that Vista Social offers just can’t be beat.
Fun Fact: In September 2022, Vista Social became the first social media management tool to offer Facebook Reels Direct Publishing just two days after Meta announced the Facebook Reels API.
