Vibe High

Make mental minimalism your new superpower🦸

July 1st 2025

You know that moment after you’ve cleared out your closet, when you open the door and only see pieces you love and wear?

Or when you finally clean out your garage and can actually park your car in it again?

Maybe it’s that feeling when you delete 500 photos from your phone and it stops constantly nagging you about storage space.

That relief, that clarity, that “ahhhh” moment?

For me, it was the day I finally cleared a ginormous pile of paperwork that had moved with me to three different places, and created a system for incoming paper that prevented many future pile-ups. It was a huge weight off my shoulders (and my mental bandwidth).

That’s what we’re after for your brain and your business.

As visionary coaches and consultants, we’re wired to spot every shiny opportunity.

But when your head and calendar are bursting at the seams, even your best ideas get buried under the pile of “someday maybe” projects.

It’s time for a strategic mindset shift: minimalism for your mind.

The Art of Mental Minimalism (For Business)

  1. Apply minimalist principles to ideas + commitments

Essentialism over accumulation: Ask yourself, “Does this idea align with my highest goals?” If not, it doesn’t earn shelf space in your brain or on your to-do list.

Quality over quantity: You don’t need 20 new projects – just the right two or three that will actually move the needle.

  1. Escape the abundance-of-options trap

Endless possibilities feel exciting… until decision fatigue kicks in. Too many “good” ideas become mental clutter, blocking your momentum on the truly great ones.

It’s like standing in the cereal aisle at the grocery store for ten minutes because there are 47 different options. Sometimes, more choices just make everything harder.

  1. Curate, don’t collect

Containerize your commitments: Limit active projects to your Immediate and Plan quadrants (see the exercise below).

Everything else gets a later date or gets dropped entirely.

  1. Less is more – when it’s the right less

The goal isn’t to do less work; it’s to do more of the work that matters.

That laser focus? That’s what creates breakthroughs, not a mile-long to-do list that makes you feel busy but not productive.

  1. Give yourself permission to let go

Good ideas can be tempting, but great ideas need space to breathe. You have permission to release the “nice-to-haves” so you can fully invest in your “must-haves.”

This Week’s Experiment: The Strategic Sort

Ready to declutter your mental space? Find 30 minutes to invest in this exercise. Here’s your action plan:

STEP ONE: Revisit your brain dump

Go to the Visionaries Prioritization Playbook and review the ideas captured in your Shiny Object Audit. Use the Ease + Impact Matrix to sort your ideas into one of four quadrants (check out the how-to video I included with the Playbook for step-by-step guidance).

Immediate: High Impact / Easy to Implement → Quick Wins, do ASAP

Plan: High Impact / Hard to Implement → Big projects, schedule these

Consider: Low Impact / Easy to Implement → May be worth doing, revisit during your Quarterly review

Drop: Low Impact / Hard to Implement → Don’t waste your time, let it go without guilt

STEP TWO: Choose your top two or three

Commit to focusing only on these for the next 4-6 weeks.

Everything else can wait (and the world won’t end, I promise).

STEP THREE: Get support to make it stick

This is where most people get stuck – they exercise, feel great for a week, then gradually slip back into old patterns.

Or, they start lead development for a few days, start to develop some relationships, and then drop off and ghost their new connections.

Here’s where it gets real:

If you want accountability and support to actually implement your priority projects and goals, I’m inviting you to join Vibe High’s Action + Accountability Circle – my small group program designed specifically for coaches + consultants who are ready to stop spinning their wheels and start seeing real momentum.

We’ll work together to help you:

  • Implement systems that keep you on track
  • Connect with other ambitious visionaries who “get it”
  • Get personalized feedback on your biggest challenges
  • Master the art of strategic focus (no more shiny object syndrome – woo hoo!)

The first cohort starts next week, and space is limited to 6-8 people for personalized attention.
