Wins to celebrate, lessons to keep + one thing to release ❄️

December 16th, 2025

This is my last blog before I take two weeks off.

And before I step away, I wanted to share what I’m taking with me into 2026 – and what I’m intentionally leaving behind.

Not because I have it all figured out (I definitely don’t). But because taking stock matters. And if you’re feeling like this year flew by without a moment to pause and reflect, maybe this will give you permission to do the same.

But first – thank you. Thank you for being here, for reading these blogs every week, for the emails and questions and insights you’ve shared. Your engagement fuels this work more than you know.

What I’m celebrating

  1. Fully stepping into Fractional Chief of Staff work

I’ve been in Chief of Staff roles since 2021 – but always as part of larger operations management positions. This year, I finally made it my standalone service. I repositioned my entire business around Fractional Chief of Staff work, created new packages, and retired my old “Get Big Sh!t Done” accountability and project management services (while rolling those capabilities into my COS offerings).

  1. Publishing 37 weekly emails since April

I committed to showing up in my subscribers’ inboxes every Tuesday with frameworks, real client insights, and practical strategies. My open rate? 60-70%. That tells me the content is landing. And honestly, the weekly rhythm has sharpened my thinking and my writing in ways I didn’t expect.

  1. Building what I call my “10x/Ten of Cups Business Model”

I’ve been intentional about building collaborative relationships with growth-oriented people who genuinely value strategic partnership. This year brought meaningful collaborations continuing into 2026 – including collaborative articles, video series, and partnerships with people like Stephen Moegling, who recently said:

“I hired Moriah to teach a masterclass to my private community of consultants and coaches… She over-delivered! Moriah provided very helpful, hands-on frameworks, presented magnificently, and I had so many positive comments from the community after Moriah’s talk.”

That’s the energy I’m building toward – work that lights me up with people who see the value.

(More on the “10x” side of this model below.)

What didn’t work (but taught me something)

  1. Investing energy where my dream clients weren’t

Inspired by “10x is Easier than 2x,” I’ve been ruthlessly eliminating the 80% that wasn’t serving my business and doubling down on the 20% that creates real impact. That included deactivating my business Instagram account – a platform that demanded constant content but brought zero qualified clients.

What I learned: presence without strategic focus is just noise. In 2026, I’m being ruthlessly intentional about where I show up – and cutting everything that scatters my energy.

  1. Underpricing my expertise

For too long, I underpriced my strategic partnership work. It took client feedback (and some hard conversations with myself) to realize I was undervaluing what I bring. I’ve since adjusted – and the clients who see the value don’t hesitate.

What I’m not carrying into 2026

The belief that strategic thinking isn’t “real work” unless it’s paired with execution.

For years, I undervalued the thinking, the pattern recognition, and asking the right questions – the Chief of Staff work that creates clarity before action. I kept proving my worth through doing, not seeing. In 2026, I’m owning that the strategic partnership IS the work. Yes, I still execute on special projects and initiatives – but the value isn’t just in the doing. It’s in seeing what needs to happen, designing the systems, and bridging strategic vision with operational reality.

Your 3-2-1 Year-End Reflection

If you want to try this for yourself, here’s the framework:

3 Wins (even small ones count):

  • What are you proud of from this year?
  • What went better than expected?
  • What did you accomplish that you almost didn’t think was possible?

2 Experiments that didn’t work (but taught you something):

  • What flopped? What didn’t land?
  • What would you do differently next time?
  • What can you let go of without guilt?

1 Thing you’re not carrying into 2026:

  • What are you giving yourself permission to stop doing?
  • What belief, habit, or pattern are you releasing?
  • What’s not working for you anymore?

Take 10 minutes. Grab a journal, a notes app, whatever works. Just reflect.

You might be surprised what comes up.

When I come back in January, we’ll kick off a new series on Clearing Conversations – how to have the hard conversations you’ve been avoiding, repair trust when things go sideways, and create the kind of psychological safety that makes honest communication possible.

Until then: celebrate your wins. Release what’s not working. And give yourself permission to rest.

You’ve earned it.

Talk soon,

Moriah

P.S. This is my last blog of the year. I’m supporting current clients through mid-December, then taking two weeks completely off to rest, read, and recharge. I’ll be back January 6 with fresh energy and that Clearing Conversations series.

P.P.S. If Stephen’s testimonial resonated and you’re thinking about bringing me in to teach a masterclass for your community or team, or if you’re curious about my Strategic Clarity Intensive or Fractional Chief of Staff services, email me here and let’s talk before the year ends.
